DIS Case Management Specialist (4590)
Job Description:
This position will assist in the implementation of operational and surveillance protocols pertaining to
Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) program development, as well as standardization of internal and
external policies and procedures. This position will also assist in the oversight of Disease Intervention
Specialist (DIS) districts (grantees). The oversight of DIS Districts includes but is not limited to the
following: assist in oversight on DIS casework as it pertains to District follow up priorities, completion of
NBS Data Entry, daily case reviews of syphilis and HIV and provide technical assistance as needed. This
position will be responsible for performing quarterly pouch audits, assist in annual quality assurance
reviews, assist with yearly case cleanings and provide feedback that will implement program policy as it
pertains to DIS case management for the STD Program. In times of public health emergency caused by
infectious disease, the DIS Field Operations Specialist may be asked to provide investigatory services or
intervention services to assist in relief and response efforts. Lastly, this position will perform other duties
as assigned by the Prevention Director and STD Prevention Manager.

Experience Needed:
- Applicant must possess a B.S. degree from a four year accredited college or university preferably in public health or social sciences; or six years professional experience in public health or a health care related field.
- Applicant must possess a valid Indiana (or other US State) driver’s license.
- Ability to work, communicate and provide services to patients and clients of culturally, racially,ethnically, economically and geographically diverse populations in a non-judgemental, empathetic manner in safe and comfortable environments.
- Applicant must have the ability to work with culturally diverse populations in a non-judgmental environment.
